Designer of Printing and Weaving in England and after 1861 lived in Dunedin, New Zealand for 7 years as a Watercolourist and Victoria, Australia as a Designer, Watercolourist and Teacher of Drawing until his death in 1909,he focused on natural history subjects. His Grandson was the noted Australian Portrait Painter and Stained Glass Artist Norman St Clair Carter.
