John Carter b. 28 August 1821

Designer of Printing and Weaving in England and after migrating in 1861 to Victoria Australia lived in Dunedin, New Zealand for 7 years as a Watercolourist and returned to Victoria, Australia as a Designer, Watercolourist and Teacher of Drawing until his death in 1909,he focused on natural history subjects. His Grandson was the noted Australian Portrait Painter and Stained Glass Artist Norman St Clair Carter.
