sketcher, is attributed with the watercolour Pioneer Graves at Sorrento (c.1864, Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery), which depicts the cemetery at Sullivan’s Bay, Hobart. John Gunn was a son of the boat-builder Samuel Gunn and his wife (probably Sarah) and a grandson of the convict shipwright Samuel Gunn (c.1780-1859).
