sketcher and settler, was another son of Henry Curzon Allport . An 1847 article on local artists in Heads of the People mentioned that John Allport, like his father, was an 'old talented friend of Concord’. One pencil sketch of about 1845 is held in the Mitchell Library; another is in the Allport Collection. When Selina, his widow, died near Bingara, New South Wales in 1878, John was said to have died three years earlier at Bideroc Station, near Barraba.
