watercolourist and architect, showed five watercolours at the first exhibition of the Victorian Society of Fine Arts in 1857, when living at 37 Regent Street, Collingwood. As well as British views, such as Scene in Cumberland (for sale at £8) and Glanghonadfoy Castle (£7), there were two Tasmanian scenes: View on the Mersey, Tasmania (£6) and View on the N. Esk (£4). O’Flanagan also exhibited an architectural design. In 1859 John O’Flanagan was listed in the Melbourne Directory as a practising architect of 49 Collins Street West, in partnership with John T. Jones.
