cartoonist and comic strip artist, drew his first cartoons for Man . This was followed by 21 years with the Sydney Sun , where he drew the comic strips Gus, Peter and Penny and Jeremy Winkle (1971-76). He left Fairfax in 1976 in order to freelance, but returned four years later. He joined News Ltd as art director in 1982. A member of the Black and White Artists’ Club, he was president in 1984-87 and elected a life member in 1991.
