professional photographer and carpenter, son of John Finch and Eliza, née Cutler, was born in England on 24 July 1834. He came to Adelaide in 1849 in the John Henderson. On 11 August 1858 he married Maria Elizabeth Wood at Gawler. Although listed as a Gawler photographer in 1864-65 by Davies and Stanbury, Finch was primarily a carpenter. He died at Gawler on 15 February 1920.
