painter, cartoonist, film-maker and writer, was born in Adelaide, son of the painter James V. Wigley . Bachelor of Architecture, University of Melbourne, 1966; post-graduate Film & TV diploma, 1988. Held his first exhibition at Ewing Gallery, MU. Wrote and illustrated a number of books on Aboriginal conditions in the Northern Territory, including (with M. Heppell), Black Out in Alice: A history of the establishment and development of town camps in Alice Springs (ANU, Development Studies Centre, 1981). An exhibition of his satirical cartoons and (straighter) paintings on NT subjects was held at the Trade Hall Gallery, Carlton, in 1980. Four solo exhibitions at the Museums and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, Darwin, 1982-85, also at Greenhill Galleries, Adelaide and Niagara, Melbourne. Has also made films.
