marine painter, son of George Frederick Gregory , worked as a marine painter in the late nineteenth century – for a while in South Australia before he moved east to Sydney and Newcastle. A watercolour and gouache ship portrait of the William T. Lewis c.1920 (Hood Collection, Australian National Maritime Museum) is jointly signed by Gregory and the Adelaide Photographic Company of Sydney, then owned by Sam Hood .
