Assisted Lady Franklin, wife of the governor of Tasmania, in the formation of the Tasmanian Ladies’ Society for the Reformation of Female Prisoners. An employee of the Millbank Penitentiary, she was a passenger on board the Rajah which sailed from Greenwich in 1841 transporting convicts to Van Dieman’s Land.
