Lady Napaljarri was born at Coniston, date of birth uncertain. Her country is Wirliyajarrayi (Willowra). She paints the Dreamings for this country; also Jiri (Prickle Dreaming). She has no particular connections with communities other than Willowra, or with other artists at Willowra. Her tribal identification is Warlpiri/Anmatyerre. 'I started painting when I was six years old. I’ve learnt ceremony dancing from my mother and grandma. I’ve learnt singing my song for the dancing about my country that went with the designs.’
