Yorta Yorta (VIC) and Kamilaroi (NSW) man, Lance Atkinson, works as a landscape painter who is inspired by his family, the environment and animals. He lives and works in Victoria. In Tribal Expressions : The Business of Art and Culture in Indigenous Victoria , published in 2006, he states that he is inspired by his “family and the Murray (River), the smell of the life forming.”
