Leanne Tobin is a descendant of the Darug people of Western Sydney, NSW. Tobin works in a variety of media including acrylic, charcoal, ochre and pastel. She has been a finalist in the 2005, 2006 and 2007 Parliament of NSW Indigenous Art Prize.

In 2006 Tobin won both the Liverpool City Council Award and the Liverpool Women’s Services Award in the annual Mil-Pra AECG Aboriginal Art Exhibition and Award at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre.
