Place of birth Yinapaka (Lake Surprise) c.1925. She was a senior member of the Lajamanu community, her language/tribe was Warlpiri and she had two countries – Yinapaka, and Kurlurrnglinpa – from both parents. Her Dreamings were Witi (witi poles are associated with the male initiates Dreaming, but are not secret) and Ngatijirri (Budgerigar). She started painting in 1986 with the Traditional Painting course put on by the TAFE Unit at Lajamanu School.
