Curzona Frances Louise (Lily) Allport the daughter of a prominent Tasmanian family, was born in Hobart in 1860. By 1890 she was studying in Paris, sharing a studio with her cousin, Charles Ritchie.
The Hobart Mercury of 16 May, 1928 notes that both Lily Allport and Ritchie had successfully exhibited work at the Royal Academy in London.
Later she taught printmaking at the London School of Photo Engraving and Lithography.
