Aplin was a Queensland painter who exhibited at the Melbourne Centennial International Exhibition, 1888-89, and in the annual Queensland Art Society show in 1896.

Exhibited two oil paintings with the Queensland Art Society in 1896: no.68 Louisa Aplin (née Rielly) Wisteria £5.5.; no. 76 Pelargonium and Phlox £2.10.
There is some speculation that Aplin might be the sister of Isabella and Thomas Rielly .
