Kuku Yalanji descendant, Luke Cummins was born in Cunnamulla in western Queensland. His acrylic on canvas paintings are informed by the traditional stories told to him by his father and uncles, in particular the 'Quinkan’ spirit figure stories. Cummins has worked as an arts officer for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs office in Cairns.
