Born in Forster on the NSW mid north coast, Mandy Davis is of the Biripi people and also has connections to the Worimi people. Both these groups fall under the Kattang language group. Davis began painting in 1990 and in 1994 became a member of Tobwabba Art in Forster.

Davis has exhibited her work nationally and internationally and has received many commendations and awards. In 2005 she was a finalist in the Parliament of NSW Indigenous Art Prize held at NSW Parliament House, Sydney.
