Embroider, lived at Alstonville, NSW. The Lismore Historical Museum owns a mantle drape (lots of stuffed fruit) made by Maria Johnston of Alstonville when she was in her teens (Donor Mrs H.M. Blake) and a flower (orchid) arrangement on black stitched c.1890 by Miss M. Johnston on the first Singer Sewing Machine (Donor Miss A. Black.)
