Biography <p>Photographer, was the second wife of Robert Christison of Lammermoor, North Queensland. Her photographs of the weapons of the Dalleburra people taken in 1896-98 are in the BM's 'Christison Collection'. 8 very good portrait photographs are reproduced in her daughter's article for the <i>_Journal of the Royal Anthropological Institute</i>_ and others are in her daughter's biography of Robert.</p> <p>

This is apparently the Mrs Christison who had work exhibited at the Art Society of Tasmania's Old Hobart Exhibition in 1896. The catalogue lists among 'Members' Work on loan for exhibition' - no.436 Portrait, Mrs Christison; no.237 Portrait, Mrs Christison - address given as Queensland. Presumably both were photographs.</p> <p>

Mrs Christison went to England and refused to return to Lammermoor until her daughter Mary was twelve. Later Mary had lessons with Sergeant in London and presumably her mother accompanied her there.</p> <p><b>
