Arrente artist from Alice Springs. She took up painting whilst enrolled at the Institute of Aboriginal Development in the late '90s and has sold her work through the Jukurrpa artists' cooperative based there and Gondwana Gallery. She participated in the 'Crossroads' exhibition at the Araluen Arts Centre in Alice Springs.
May Berger was born in 1935 in Alice Springs, where she has lived all her life. Her language/tribe is Arrente. For the past few years, she has been enrolled in Management and Home Management courses at the Institute of Aboriginal Development in Alice Springs. Through her contact with IAD, she began painting in the early ’90s. She was inspired by watching other Alice Springs’s resident artists. She has sold her work through the Gondwana Gallery in Alice Springs, and Jukurrpa artists’ co-operative based at IAD. She participated in the Jukurrpa exhibition Crossroads at the Araluen Arts Centre in 1991.
