Born on Kirkimby station c.1956, his language and tribe was Warlpiri. His country was around Lima in the Tanami. His Dreamings were Ngatijirri (Budgerigar), Ngarlu (Honey), Warna (Snake) and Laju (Witchetty Grub). He lived at Lajamanu and worked with his wife Angela Hector Napanaru – who is West Australian, born near Broome. He started painting in 1986.
