pen and ink with spatter technique touched with white 21.9 × 15.9 cm (private collection), a quotation from Book 2 of 'Temore’, one of the Ossianic poems, which shows a Roman soldier with another floating before him in the mist (ill. Draffin, 23). Stronger b/w work exists, eg Roman lad with horse (back cover Draffin) but content is thin.
