embroiderer and dressmaker, was one of the three daughters of Thomas Jago, a tailor of Echuca, Victoria. Sarah, known as Polly (died 30 September 1918), Emily (c.1860-1936) and Johanna, known as Annie (c.1857-1954), all worked as dressmakers in Echuca. Although the elder sister would most properly have been 'Miss Jago’, older residents of Echuca remember the youngest as being both a needlewoman and dressmaker. Moreover, the embroidered picture Prosper Australia (c.1901, silk thread on linen), now in the Echuca Historical Society Museum, was discovered among Annie Jago’s belongings after her death.
