painter and insurance salesman, painted a transparency for the Northern Assurance Company’s Melbourne office in Collins Street to celebrate the visit of the Duke of Edinburgh in 1867. This transparency, executed by Farquhar for his Scottish-based employers, had the lion of Scotland surmounted by a crown as its central motif.
