sketcher, was reported by the Melbourne Argus as having taken a sketch immediately after the Admella was wrecked off the South Australian coast on 12 August 1859. James Hazell Adamson developed it into an oil painting. The artist was possibly the Mr Johnston who was catalogued as the painter of Portrait of a Lady , lent by the Hon. R.D. Hansen to the 1859 exhibition of the South Australian Society of Arts in Adelaide.
