Murray Gill was born in Mullewa, Western Australia in 1944. He took up his education in University of Western Australia, Curtin University and Edith Cowan College of Advanced Education. Gill has been an art teacher, art reviewer and is a former Vice President of W.A. Printmakers. He was also the President of Artists for Old Growth Forests. In 1971, Gill won the WA Artist of the Year award. He painted murals for the Burswood Island Resort in Perth, 1987. Gill has been interviewed on the American N.B.C. “Today” show with Jane Pauley and has appeared on numerous occasions on ABC radio and television including an in-depth interview with George Negus.
