Mid 20th century Prisoner of War cartoonist interned in Hay, NSW. Two of his cartoons dated 1941, probably signed 'N. Heine', were donated to Hay Gaol (now museum and cultural centre).
cartoonist, apparently drew cartoons while in Hay Gaol as a prisoner of war. Two of his cartoons dated 1941, probably signed 'N. Heine’, were donated to Hay Gaol (now museum and cultural centre) by Mrs Powles of Deniliquin. Both are about POWs at Hay; one shows a soldier poking his head round door of prison cell and asking 'Are you comfy?’ The local Hay caricaturist at the time was C. Loftus.
