Pintupi artist related to several of the original "painting men" from Papunya. After gaining initial experience working with her husband, Timmy Jugadai, she is now a leading artist for Ikuntji Women's Centre in Haasts Bluff.
Born c.1933 at Karrkurutjintja, her language/tribe is Pintupi and she paints Two Women ('coming from WA’), Jangala (Two Men) and Snake for her country, Karrkurutjintja. She is full sister to painters Riley Major Tjangala and the late George Tjangala, as well as to Dapper Dapper Tjangala. She was sister-in-law to the artist Charlie Tarawa, and renowned painter Uta Uta Tjangala was her cousin. Narputta was married to Timmy Jugadai. Their daughter, Daisy Jugadai Napaltjarri, also paints. Narputta only began painting in her own name in 1992, but learned to paint in the 1970’s, working on her late husband’s canvases for Papunya Tula Artists. Narputta lives in the Haasts Bluff community, and sells her work through the Ikuntji Women’s Centre.
