Painter and illustrator, is said to have worked as an artist for the Sydney Morning Herald in 1896. Hardy was brought to Australia from England in 1886 to work in the new illustrations department of the Sydney Mail. He was responsible for the Boer War illustrations in Cassell’s Illustrated History of the Boer War .
