painter and sketcher, illustrated and wrote The New Chum in Australia (1886). ML holds various watercolours of Sydney University, Hartley Valley (Blue Mountains, NSW), Melbourne Botanical Gardens 1884, Government House Hobart and 2 views of Brisbane 1865 [sic?].

Clarke drew the 40 illustrations in The New Chum in Australia , acc. McCulloch.
