cartoonist, illustrator, writer and cook, was born in Ballarat and claimed to have been reared in Tumut, Sydney, the South Coast, Argalong, Taubingo and Melbourne. He worked as a freelance cartoonist for the Melbourne Age , Sun News-Pictorial and many other papers. From the late 1950s to the mid-1970s he mainly did wrote articles and drew cartoons for the Melbourne Herald (e.g. 1967 change in the bush, ill. Lindesay 1979, 317), including two comic strips in 1973. He wrote and illustrated a cooking page in the Melbourne Sunday Observer in the 1970s and has appeared on TV as a cook (own cooking programs: e.g. Come and get it, with Peter Russell Clarke , ABC, 1980s). Illustrated The Awful Australian by Bob King Crawford (John Walker, North Brighton, Vic., 1969) with cartoons; a coloured one on the cover is signed 'Peter’, the rest are unsigned.
