cartoonist, drew joke drawings signed 'Ray’ for the Rambler (Melbourne 1899), which he co-edited with Norman and Lionel Lindsay. Also contributed to the Bulletin in the late 1890s, e.g. In China – “The Sins of the Push” 20 August 1898, a good “Chinese Push” joke: 'Ah Billee: “There goes a missionary.”/ Ah Jon: “'Eave arf-a-brick at him.”/ Ah B.: “He’s come over from Australia!”/ Ah J.: “'Eave two bricks at him, and then go and stoush him – I’ve bin in Australia“.
