Rebecca Smith of the Darug language group was a finalist in the 2006 Parliament of NSW Indigenous Art Prize. Among other roles, she has also worked as a Senior Program Officer for Oxfam's Indigenous Australia Program.
Rebecca Smith of the Darug language group was born in Blacktown in Western Sydney. She has worked as a Senior Program Officer for Oxfam’s Indigenous Australia Program, as a Curator and Gallery Assistant for World Vision Australia’s Walkabout Art Gallery (now known as Birrung Gallery) and also as an Aboriginal Health Education Officer for Central Sydney (now known as Sydney South West) Area Health Service. Her 2005 oil and mixed media painting, Cocoons was accepted as a finalist in the 2006 Parliament of NSW Indigenous Art Prize.
