artist and decorator, was listed as such in the Ballarat Directory for 1857, when living at Bakery Hill, Ballarat East, Victoria. His father was partner in a Bank which failed in 1825; the family lost its fortune.

At 57 years old, Richard Rishworth wed the 19 year old Harriet Ann Durant on September 2, 1856 at Ballarat, his second marriage. He and Harriet Ann had six children.
