professional photographer, was working as a photographer at Adelaide by 1864 when he had a studio on the corner of Hindley and Leigh Streets. He had come to Adelaide in the Orleana in 1839 with his wife Catherine and their child; they lived in the Adelaide suburb of Norwood. Robert Dodgson was a member of the Volunteer Forces raised in Adelaide. He died in his Norwood home on 3 November 1870.
