painter, cartoonist and critic, left Architecture at SU without a degree and worked briefly as a cartoonist and illustrator on the Sydney Telegraph . He did most of the artwork in the Observer 1958-59, where he was paid 10/6 for a small drawing. He also contributed cartoons and art criticism to Nation (1959 to mid-1960s), the Sunday Mirror and Art and Australia (from 1963). Worked in London during the late 1960s. In 1970 he left for the US to become art critic on Time magazine.
