travelling photographer, prison warder and sly-grog vendor, was fined £5 for the illegal sale of liquor at Donnybrook, Victoria. In July 1870 a warrant was issued for his arrest due to the non-payment of this fine. The Victoria Police Gazette described him as: 'Irish, formerly a warder at Pentridge, afterwards a travelling photographer, aged about 40, five feet seven inches high [170 cm], medium build, light-brown hair whiskers and moustache, smart and active appearance, generally wears grey tweed trousers and dark sac-coat’.
