Fashion designer Rosemary Armstrong was born in 1948. She worked in retail at the Squire Shop, Double Bay, Sydney, for eight years before launching her label, Tea Rose, in 1981. Armstrong worked from her home studio in Yarramalong Valley on the Central Coast of NSW, commuting several times a week to her retail outlet in Double Bay.

Tea Rose debuted at the 1997 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Sydney. The label is known for its ultra-feminine clothes made from luxury fabrics.

Armstrong’s work for Tea Rose is represented in the collection of the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney.
