painter, exhibited in the Australian Artists Association winter exhibition at Melbourne in 1887.

Exhibited Melbourne Centennial International Exhibition 1888-9, and won two Jury awards (Oil and Watercolour painting) for Autumn Afternoon (Honourable Mention) and St. Kilda Pier (3rd order of merit), no.100 in the Victorian Artists’ Gallery. Catalogue notes his address as Inkerman-st, St. Kilda.

Captain A. Boyd of “Glenfern”, East St Kilda (Arthur Merric) exhibited Melbourne Centennial International Exhibition 1888-9 Victorian Court Class 2 (Various paintings, drawings etc) cat.5 “Fishing Boats off Brighton”.

Exhibited Society of Artists 1896.

The atmospheric (blasted heath-style) Mount Rowland, Tasmania 1901, oil on canvas 39.3 × 58.8 cm, was offered by Christie’s Melbourne auction of 6-7 May 2003, lot 131 (est. $10,000-15,000).
