Made a work in 1996 which consists of large cut-outs of a boy artist and his Aboriginal subjects taken from colonial artist Robert Dowling's painting, 'Early Effort--Art in Australia'. The work places its two-dimensional antipodean figures against a background of colonial history, aiming to give some authenticity to a far less picturesque past than that depicted.
'image of a little boy in an art gallery (and possibly other works) from 'Early Efforts', Chameleon Gallery, Hobart, 1988, curated by Heather Curnow, an exhibition on the theme of Robert Dowling's Early Effort: Art in Australia'.
