Although she was born in Adelaide, Susan Dorothea White was influenced by her childhood in Broken Hill in far western NSW. After initially studying at the South Australian School of Art, she studied at the Julian Ashton art school under Henry Gibbons. She has exhibited widely throughout Australia as well as New York, Germany and Amsterdam.
