professional photographer, announced he was from Sydney, New South Wales, when he opened a Daguerrean Gallery in St John’s Square, Launceston, Tasmania, in November 1855. His studio was in Chapel Street, Prahran, Melbourne between 1866 and 1872 and he worked at Sandhurst (Bendigo) from about 1875 to 1881.
