Born at Yarturla-yarturla (the Granites mine) c.1945, his language/tribe is Warlpiri and he lives at Lajamanu. His country is Yumurrpa and his Dreamings are Janganpa (Possum) and Ngapa. He works with his wife Pampirriya Nungarrayi Burns , and started painting in 1986.
