A contemporary Sydney zine cartoonist, Vanessa produces "Psychobabble" - one of the longest established zines. It's likely that Vanessa chose her nom-de-plum in honour of the 1960s cartoonist Mollie Horseman, who also used that name.

It is full of good jokes, though 'it looks terrible and hasn’t really improved in the few years it has been coming from Vanessa’s bedroom’. Issue 19 published 1999. (Doubtless coincidentally, 'Vanessa’ was a nom-de-plume used by Mollie Horseman in the 1960s.)
