At the Art Society’s exhibition in 1896: “Mr William Birkenhead and Mr Kenway have some good landscapes” ( Sydney Morning Herald , 10 October 1896, p.7). At the Art Society of NSW exhibition in 1896: “Aline Cusack and Wm. Birkenhead work in the way of Piguinet, and catch a good deal of his result” ( Bulletin , 17 October 1896, p.12).
