Cartoonist and clerk, worked at Ipswich, Queensland, in the late 1860s. He was a member of the Ipswich Punch Society of gentlemen who produced the first series of the magazine (January1866 to December 1867) before being appointed Recording Clerk at Bourketown in mid-1867. Cartoons carrying his initials include Australia’s Complaint – (Australia): “Now, Mr. Bull! Don’t land any more of your rubbish here, or I’ll be ruined” – vol.1 (1866), illustrated Deppeler-Hagan p.28. Queensland in a fix (no.1) , published on 15 August 1866 and reprinted in M. Anderson et al., When Australia Was A Woman , WAM 1998, cat. 29 (p.63), carries the 'WF’ monogram lhs and 'C’ on the rhs.
