William H. Kemp

William Kemp was an ensign in the 51st Regiment of Light Infantry in Hobart Town. He is known from a drawing inserted in a fellow soldier's sketchbook.

sketcher and soldier, was posted to Hobart Town, Van Diemen’s Land, in the mid 1840s as an ensign in the 51st Regiment of Light Infantry. His signed sketch, Hobart Town from behind the Old Wharf Barracks (Allport Library and Museum of Fine Arts, State Library of Tasmania, Hobart, Tas), is loosely inserted into the sketchbook of James William Mansfield , a fellow sketcher in the regiment.
