Painter, studied at the NGV Schools under Frederick McCubbin in 1894-96. He exhibited at the VAS from 1901 to 1927 and was Secretary in 1915-19 (succeeding A. Colquhoun and preceding J.J. Collins ). He painted landscapes in and around Melbourne and occasionally in Sydney, where he had relatives. In May 2001 Bridget McDonnell was showing his 11.4 × 20.5 cm oil on panel painting Neutral Bay , dated 1910 (according to the catalogue text although the figure looks like '12’ on the colour illustration). 'The late W.N. Anderson was an unequal painter who occasionally accomplished something rare,’ said William Moore ( SAA ).
