Biography

Ainslie Gatt is deeply committed to the promotion of the Visual Arts industry. Specialising in exhibition management, Ainslie has operated in the industry since 1994, as curator, gallery owner and an independent art consultant.

Ainslie has comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Australian Art and over the years has built strong working relationships with private, corporate and institutional collectors, delivering a professional and confidential service.

Ainslie Gatt is particularly well known to the Perth audience for co-owning Accent Fine Art Galleries between 1995-2003 and curating many successful exhibitions throughout the years.

In 2000 Ainslie was a key player involved in an exhibition to showcase a group of indigenous artists from the Warburton community to a wider Perth audience. These unique, indigenous artists hailed from the communities of Blackstone, Tjukurla and Patjarr. Ian Bernadt, a supporter of this landmark exhibition, commended me on my efforts and competence which he asserts greatly contributed to the success of the exhibition in bringing these distinctive artists to prominence in Western Australia.

In 2004 Ainslie Gatt set up her own business as an Independent Art Consultant, presenting innovation in arts projects in Perth. Among other initiatives, from 2007, Ainslie Gatt Art Consultancy has exhibited visual artists in the unconventional iconic setting of the Perth Concert Hall developing a relationship with the audience of that venue and binding fine art with music.

Ainslie has established itself globally through working with international artists exhibiting in Perth, and with international clients, from purchasing artworks for Super Yachts to commissions with leading global mining companies and preparing Art Valuations and Condition Reports for many corporate and private collectors.

Ainslie joined the Council of the Friends of the Art Gallery of Western Australia in 2007; she was elected Vice President in 2009. Due to work commitments Ainslie resigned from council in June 2010. Ainslie studied the Bachelor of Art degree in Communication and Cultural Studies from Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia and has completed the Certificate of Museum Studies at Edith Cowan University, Mount Lawley.

Ainslie has been published in numerous periodicals as a Visual and Performing Arts writer, including: the Australian Art Sales Digest and VIP Perth - lifestyle magazine.
